In the summer of 2024, Trafalgar Square Books and the horsemanship students in the BridgeUP GiddyUP program at Southern Blues Equestrian Center outside Memphis, Tennessee, teamed up to provide a source of quality book reviews by real riders--something that can be pretty hard to find these days.

BridgeUP GiddyUP is a multi-year, multi-disciplinary after-school and summer educational program supported by the Helen Gurley Brown Foundation, intended to provide accessibility to the equestrian arts and sciences in urban communities within Memphis. Participants received and reviewed two TSB books: a practical guide to training exercises called RAINY DAY HORSEMANSHIP by Vanessa Bee, and the illustrated memoir THE HORSES WHO MADE ME by Alizée Froment. Their perceptive comments and summaries of each of these books give those considering their next "horse book" purchase a real rider's look at what the text provides for guidance and inspiration.

We are grateful for all the real rider book reviewers at BridgeUP GiddyUP, young horsepeople who are working hard to become thoughtful, conscientious equestrians to better the future of horse sport. Follow their horsemanship progress on IG @bridgeupgiddyup
