Texas writers Melinda Folse, author of THE SMART WOMAN’S GUIDE TO MIDLIFE HORSES, and Kayla Starnes, author of TEAM ROPING 101, were on-hand at Red Steagall’s Cowboy Gathering & Western Swing Festival over the weekend. There they signed books and joined in the fun at the Fort Worth Stockyards. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday featured cowboy music, poetry, rodeo events, horsemanship clinics, and a marketplace where attendees could check out the latest and greatest in cowboy trappings and equestrian gear.

Sounds like the weekend, voted “Best gathering and best family event” by the readers of American Cowboy magazine, was a terrific way to brush up on your horse know-how and your appreciation for the traditions of the American West…while also doing a little holiday shopping, to boot!

If you missed your chance to meet Melinda and Kayla this weekend, you can pick up a copy of THE SMART WOMAN’S GUIDE TO MIDLIFE HORSES and TEAM ROPING 101 on the TSB website, where shipping in the US is always FREE.
