Under her leadership the British Juniors and Young Riders accumulated well over 90 European Championship Team and Individual medals, including 38 golds. In addition to her skills as a trainer, Gill is a former Burghley winner, is a British Dressage List 3A dressage judge, is on the FEI Judges list, is a FBHS, and has received an MBE in recognition of services to sport. Watson has also received a number of awards for her services, including the BE Trainers and Millennium Awards as well as the Sports Coach UK Mussabini Medal from The National Coaching Foundation, which recognizes UK coaches who have achieved outstanding success at world-class level.
