Dressage rider, trainer, and best-selling author Betsy Steiner is a member of the US quadrille team to compete in this year’s Challenge of the Americas.
Held this Saturday, March 13, 2010, at the beautiful International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington, Florida, the Challenge is in its ninth consecutive year as an annual fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Challenge features three Grand Prix team quadrilles performed by some of the most well-known dressage riders in the US, Canada, Latin America, and Europe. Betsy will be riding Solar HM, an 11-year-old Lusitano owned by Becky and Vern Thornton.
Keeping to her busy schedule of appearances, Betsy and her daughter Jessie–also an international-level dressage rider–will be handling the commentary for the dressage competition at this year’s Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event. With the sport of eventing featuring more and more of a focus on the dressage phase, we’re looking forward to the Steiner insight as the competition gets underway.
